Brian Faulkner writes: \n“At yesterday’s council meeting we agreed to go ahead with a litter pick in our village.  I am hopefully arranging to collect litter picking equipment etc from North Norfolk District Council and then fix a day / weekend for the event itself.  So as to be able to put details of this initiative in the village magazine I am provisionally looking at the weekend of 12th – 14th April.  Ruth Ridge (a fellow  parish councillor) and I will co ordinate arrangements. \nI am very glad that we can show care for our village in this way.” \nDates and times to be confirmed.

DESCRIPTION:A programme on BBC2 TV\, possibly including guest appearance from Keith Harding of Plumstead Green! \nBen Robinson makes an amazing discovery at Norfolk’s impressive Holkham estate – its lost medieval village\, seen for the first time since its disappearance some 200 years ago. \nThe current village was once owned by Thomas William Coke\, known as Coke of Norfolk\, who was one of the great farming reformers of his time\, instrumental in the agricultural revolution. Ben explores its oldest building\, the Ancient House\, as well as Holkham’s beautiful stately home and the Great Barn\, whose sheep shearing events are credited as the forerunner to today’s country shows.

SUMMARY:Defibrillator Training
DESCRIPTION:Village Defibrillator\nAs most Plumstead villagers are aware\, we have a defibrillator located within the old red BT kiosk\non the Flagpole Garden. \nIt has been some years since our initial training on the device took place. Although no training is\nrequired to use the defibrillator it would be good to get as many villagers as possible familiar with\nits use\, so that confidence can be gained. \nA training session has been organised (for Plumstead residents only) to take place at 7pm on\nTuesday 18th July at Baconsthorpe Village Hall\, which will be provided by Paramedics of the East\nAnglian Ambulance Service. \nPlease contact Steve Price by Friday 14th July latest\, via email at steveprice30@hotmail.com or mobile 07895 025261 if you\nwould like to attend.

DESCRIPTION:St Michael’s Church has joined ‘Churches Count on Nature’ week and invites all who can\, especially children\, to come and see how many bugs and interesting plants we can find in our churchyard. You are welcome to bring your own picnics\, magnifying glasses\, bug collecting pots and so on. \nWe will provide recording sheets\, drinks\, and shelter if necessary. \nWe also hope to be able to start building our first bug hotel\, and you can help by bringing things to fill it\, such as pine cones\, hollow sticks\, old canes\, straw\, wood chips\, bark\, dry leaves\, bits of broken terrace pots\, and your own ideas!
